Taipei 101

I took off by myself today being in an adventurous spirit.  I also had no choice. :P  Julia's host dad gave me directions to a temple that was right by his office.  I was so excited thinking it was a big temple only to be disappointed since I couldn't find it.  I did find a small temple that mainly just consisted of a pot on the street.  It wasn't until I met up with Julia later that she told me that that was the temple he had meant.  It is very special because it is a confucius temple.
I decided to go in search of a real temple and ended up visiting Longshan Temple.  I arrived when the monks were chanting.  Unlike back in Thailand women are allowed to be monks alongside the men.  In Taiwan women wear blue robes while the men wear black.
At twelve I met up with Holly and the two of us went to Taipei 101.  We rode the elevator to the 88th floor which took a total of 33 seconds.  At the top we got a wonderful view of all Taipei.  The 89th floor was the observation deck.  Unfortunately, due to windy conditions, only one side was open but was mostly blocked by bars anyway.  We ate lunch at Mo's Burger in the Taipei 101 mall then went to Sun Yet-Sen memorial hall to sit in the park and talk.
We met up with Julia, Elycia, and Lucie for dinner which was at a Vietnamese restaurant.  Elycia departed right after while the four of us went to KTV (Karaoke television).  You get an individual room for four hours which even included a buffet.  They had a lot of songs in English but they were a bit different from the originals.  Once we had finished wrecking our ears and the ears of others that could hear us in the building, which most could, Julie and I went to Lucie's house for a sleepover.
